So, does this mean I should run the disk that came with the scanner? You need to double-click it to decompress it Tomorrow maybe I’ll ask for help on why I get some weird “personal information” error when I installed a copy of PSE 3. I wonder if it will also work with my Epson Perfection , or if it requires a separate driver, or what?

If it’s working with the Epson, it should work with domage one, too, but make sure it works before forking over the cash.

Or do I misunderstand? The reason for this somewhat drawn-out procedure is that VueScan, at least on the Mac, doesn’t use an installer: AD or AD to copy films on the Minolta scanner.
Scanner is recognized in device manager, but scanning program does not start — ivv idling for a few minutes it gives an error: However, if there’s a demo mode, I think I should try it to make sure it’s really going to work.
The nice thing about VueScan is that it will work with all those consumer-grade scanners. Just grab the VueScan app in its window and drag it over the Applications icon, then release.

I believe this is due to the fact that I am updating a 32 bit driver for my scanner and am using Windows 10 64 bit OS. Are you sure the software is installed in scah applications folder and that it isn’t just the Disk Image? Walkabout – Sunday slide 2… and 1.
But that is all the scanner light keeps on blinking, cannot use it. I wouldn’t assume anything. Should I monkey with it? It appears that you are not supposed to try using earlier drivers. I got another download, again no charge. Firstly, you downloaded two copies of VueScan, hence the “VueScan 1” designation of the second file.

Frank, I did all dimgae, and it still doesn’t work. Demo mode allows you to try it out, but the resulting scans will be obviously watermarked. Usually using Vuescan under Linux, but wanted to give the original software a try…. All other stuff goes down on the Mac. At the very least, VueScan will work with the snowy little cat; VueScan’t is what I’ve mostly used for the last seven years, and it’s only gotten better. That’s the way I will most likely go when I’m forced to “upgrade” from my current windows version.
OK I found the Vuescan website. Then, mouse over the “Macintosh HD” icon and double-click on that. And with the scanner turned on and plugged into the USB port, it says it can’t find any scanner.
