On 3 Decemberthe Dutch Church in London received confirmation that the Church is registered for the solemnisation of marriages of same-sex couples. The House of Commons accepted these provisions with a majority ofbut they were rejected by the House of Lords with a majority of Joint and stepchild adoption for LGBT persons and same-sex couples. The Marriage Same Sex Couples Actwhich allows same-sex marriage in England and Wales, was passed by the UK Parliament in July and came into force on 13 Marchwith the first same-sex marriages taking place on 29 March First Minister Arlene Foster said the DUP would use a petition of concern to block any change to the law over the next five years.
